Why do I see a running notification when AutoMate is closed?

If you see a running notification stating that "AutoMate is active", this is because you may have enabled a feature that requires AutoMate to listen in the background for certain events. This may include features such as:
  • Start/Exit on Bluetooth connection
  • Start/Exit on WiFi connection
  • Start/Exit on charger connection
  • Start/Exit on headphone connection
  • Gestures
Starting from Android 8.0 Oreo, any long running background services must show a running notification to let the user know that app is active.
