How do gestures work?

Gestures work by using the proximity sensor on your device (and is not supported on devices without a proximity sensor). Hover your hand 1 to 2 inches over the sensor in different ways:
  • Wave hand once over the sensor
  • Wave hand twice over the sensor
  • Hold hand for 2 seconds over the sensor
Any of these triggers can invoke different actions, depending on your settings. Gestures can be configured in Settings > Behavior > Gesture Options
